Of Chatrooms and 'Sexualifying'

  • 0
I love texting/chatting. Basically, I love the idea of talking to people without having to face them. I love making new friends, without having to interact with them physically (read: in real world). Hence, I chat.

Chatroom is a great place to meet new people. However, too much creeps and perverts hogging the chatrooms (or has it been like that forever?). I've noticed that most people go on chatroom to have a cyber-sex or fling or find their partner (read: boyfriend/girlfriend). I'm not saying there isn't a single decent person out there (read: in the chatrooms), but it's a rare case.

This brings us to another issue.

Why do people (read: guys) think it's OK to 'sexualify' (sorry can't think of a better word) females? Why do I feel as if women are treated as sex object? Maybe not much, but it's happening. Why do we hear about guys groping and taking advantage of women, yet we never (or rarely?) hear of the inverse happening? And what would happen if women do it to guys? Oh scratch that. Guys would love it instead of being disgusted/freaked out.

OK back to the first topic. Chatrooms.

When you think you've met someone that's not much of a pervert, and might be of the same flock, turned out he's not. He doesn't get your sense of humor and take what you said seriously. And you're *this* close in being annoyed with him. And you tweeted and blogged about it.

Eh?

Anyway. I wrote this while listening to this song. Quite OK. Love the music.
