Tips: How To Set Your Alarm Clock

  • 0
If you have trouble waking up in the morning, and have just recently discovered the alarm clock feature in your phone but don't really know how to use it (really???), you come to the right place! Here, I'll be giving you tips and tricks on how to set your alarm clock and you won't be late for your class/date/interview/meeting etc anymore!

The most important thing is choosing a ringtone/song for your alarm.

If you are the type that's hard to wake up, even when a bomb explodes right next to your ear, then it is advisable to use a screamo/head-banging/heavy metal kinda song. It's even better if you hate such song because then you will immediately want to turn off the song -- hence waking up! Never ever use a ballad song, or worse, a lullaby, as your ringtone.

Another tip in choosing your ringtone is to use your call ringtone. Since you have subconsciously implanted in your head that someone is calling you when you heard the song, you might wake up trying to pick up the call when in fact, it was your alarm (keyword: might). If you assigned different ringtone for different person, try to use the one whose call you cannot miss, such as your mom or boss. Don't forget to turn the volume up to the max for better effect!

There is a simple tip that might escape the mind of many which is to set the vibrate mode on. If you are not paranoid about the radiation emitted from the phone and all that, you could place the phone underneath the pillow (not recommended for those with heavy heads). Keep in mind that the sound will be muffled though. However, it will still produce, though not exactly the same, but almost similar effect if you place it nearby (preferably on the bed). This reminds me of this haha.

Next is to set multiple alarms. But please, just because you have set several alarms, doesn't mean you can simply ignore the first few that go off. This calls for self-discipline. Try to enhance this tip by using more than one phone/alarm clock, and put it in different places.

I hope you could benefit from these tips and tricks. However, you must be realistic when setting your alarm, especially if you have roommates. Don't set several alarms if you don't think you can't wake up. Don't effing torture your roommates with your effing noisy alarm. Please be effing considerate. If you can't but need to wake up desperately, please ask your roommates to wake you up. And remember to switch off those alarms after you fully awake.

That's all from me for now. Toodles.
